Alpine Slalom
As co-host the Winter Olympics of 2010, Whistler offers excellent conditions to host the alpine sports games. With a typical annual snowfall of 10.22 meters, with a total of 8171 hectares of land and a thriving pedestrian village, Whistler is without doubt the challenge of hosting the best in the world. Whistler Olympic Park
The beautiful Callaghan Valley is recognized as a world class cross country ski area. Whistler Sliding Center
Located in the beautiful valley of Fitzsimmons on Blackcomb Mountain, Whistler Sliding Center is the site for high performance slip events in the 2010 Olympics. With a runway of 1,450 meters long competition which is considered one of the fastest in the world, the Center is ideal sliding to host the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton. After the 2010 Olympics, the legacy of the Whistler Sliding Track Center will continue to be an important site for the improvement High performance sliding sports in Canada.
These competition venues will also host 63 Olympic medal presentations and remain as monuments memorable for participants and spectators after the 2010 Olympics are over.
